There is a certain kind of jewellery that looks beautiful when you first buy it.
It catches the light. It photographs beautifully. It feels like a great deal.
And then, slowly, something changes.
The sparkle doesn't feel the same. The surface becomes rough and the stone which looked white and bright, starts ooking dull and scratched, specially if the product is worn regularly.
For many people, this is simply accepted as part of buying jewellery.
At CaratHills, we don't think it should be.
We started with a simple question:
What if jewellery was made the way jewellery deserves to be made?
1. Not with whatever material gives the highest margin.
2. Not with whatever looks good for a few photographs.
3. Not with a stone chosen simply because it is inexpensive and can be made to resemble something more valuable.
But with real materials, thoughtfully chosen and honestly represented.
That became one of our founding principles:
Real materials. No compromises.
Because what goes into a piece matters.
Jewellery is something you wear close to yourself.
You wear it to work. To dinners. On holidays. On ordinary days when nobody is watching.
And sometimes, you wear the same piece for years.
We believe the material inside that piece should be worthy of that relationship.
That's why at CaratHills, we choose precious metals such as SILVER
and genuine gemstones such as amethyst, aquamarine, rose quartz and moonstone.
These aren't materials chosen to imitate something else.
They are beautiful in their own right.
Each gemstone has its own colour, character, inclusions and natural personality. No two stones need to look perfectly identical to be beautiful. In fact, that individuality is part of what makes a gemstone special
And when a design calls for a diamond, we choose something very specific: A LAB GROWN DIAMOND
Because lab-grown does not mean fake.
A lab-grown diamond is a class 2A diamond, the same class real diamond belongs to. It has the same properties (physical, chemical and optical) which is possessed by real diamond. The difference is its origin: it is grown in a controlled laboratory environment rather than formed deep inside the earth over geological time.
We don't need to pretend it is something it isn't.
We simply tell you what it is.
A diamond.
Lab-grown.
Real.
So what don't we use?
We don't build our jewellery around cheap substitutes simply because they make the numbers look better.
That means no base-metal construction where precious metal is promised.
No imitation gemstones where a genuine gemstone should be.
And when it comes to diamond-looking stones, we don't use CZ—cubic zirconia—as a substitute for a diamond.
CZ has its place. It is an affordable diamond simulant, and there is absolutely no shame in choosing affordable jewellery. If someone loves a CZ piece, that choice deserves to be respected.
We are not here to tell another woman that her jewellery isn't good enough.
We are simply telling you what CaratHills chooses to make.
Because we know what can happen when a stone is selected primarily because it is cheap.
CZ can look remarkably bright when it is new. But with regular wear, its surface can accumulate scratches and its brilliance can become less impressive as the stone picks up wear, residue and tiny surface marks. What looked exceptionally sparkly at first can eventually lose some of that crispness.
And that's precisely where we drew our line.
Not because CZ is "bad."
But because it wasn't good enough for the promise we wanted to make.
We could have chosen the easier way.
This matters.
Because using cheaper materials would have been easier. tt could mean lower material costs. Higher margins. More flexibility on pricing. There will always be materials that can make a piece look impressive at first glance while costing significantly less to produce.
We know that.
We've simply decided not to build CaratHills that way.
When choosing between a cheaper substitute and a genuine material, we would rather take the harder route.
Even when it costs us more. Even when it makes our margins tighter. Even when nobody looking at the finished piece would immediately know the difference.
Because we would know.
And we believe you deserve to know too.
This isn't about making expensive jewellery.
We don't want "expensive" to be our identity.
Expensive doesn't automatically mean better.
And affordable doesn't automatically mean inferior.
Our belief is much simpler:
Use the right material for the right piece. Then price it honestly.
We would rather spend more on the material than spend more
convincing you that an inexpensive substitute is something it isn't.
We would rather tell you that your diamond is lab-grown than hide behind vague words.
We would rather tell you that your stone is amethyst, aquamarine, rose quartz or moonstone than give it a fancy name designed to make it sound like something else.
And we would rather show you what you're buying than ask you to simply trust us.
Because jewellery shouldn't be disposable by default.
There is something beautiful about knowing what you're wearing.
Knowing the metal. Knowing the stone. Knowing where the sparkle comes from. Knowing that the piece wasn't designed only to look impressive on the day you opened the box, but was made with materials chosen to give it a meaningful life beyond that first impression.
That's the kind of jewellery we want to create.
Not jewellery that needs to pretend.
Not jewellery built around shortcuts.
Not jewellery where the beautiful part is only what you can
see from a distance.
But jewellery where the value begins with what is actually inside it.
Real materials. No compromises.
This is not a claim that CaratHills is better than every
other jewellery brand.
It's not an attack on affordable Jewellery.
And it's certainly not a judgement on anyone who has bought something different before.
Maybe you bought a CZ ring because it was beautiful.
Maybe you didn't know the difference.
Maybe you simply wanted something affordable.
That's okay.
We aren't here to make you regret what you bought yesterday.
We're here to give you a better choice today.
A choice where the material matters.
Where transparency matters. Where authenticity matters.
Where a stone doesn't need to pretend to be another stone to be beautiful.
And where the jewellery you wear carries a little more truth inside it.
Because at CaratHills, we believe beauty should not have to come with compromises.
Real silver.
Real gemstones.
Real diamonds—sustainable and not mined but grown in a lab with real diamond.
Real craftsmanship.
Real transparency.
No cheap substitutes.
No unnecessary shortcuts.
No pretending.
Just jewellery made with materials we genuinely believe are
worth wearing.
CaratHills.
Real materials. No compromises.
