Finding your size at home
Two minutes, a strip of paper and a ruler. And if it still isn’t right when it arrives, we resize once for free within 7 days — so you don’t have to get this perfect on the first try.
The paper strip method
You need paper, scissors, a pen and a ruler
This measures the finger itself, which is why it’s the most dependable method. It takes about two minutes.
- Cut a strip of paper about 10 cm long and 1 cm wide. Ordinary printer paper is ideal — avoid anything stretchy like ribbon or tape.
- Wrap it around the base of the finger you’ll wear the ring on. Snug, but not tight enough to press into the skin.
- Check it slides over your knuckle while still wrapped. This is the step people skip, and it’s the one that matters most — a ring has to pass the knuckle to get on.
- Mark where the paper overlaps with a pen. One clean line.
- Unwrap it and measure from the end of the strip to your mark, in millimetres. That number is your finger circumference.
- Find that circumference in the chart below.

If you land between two sizes
Take the larger one. Silver has almost no give, and a ring that sits slightly loose is far more wearable than one that’s slightly tight. A tight ring also becomes genuinely difficult to remove in warm weather.
Measuring a ring you already own
You need a ring that fits, and a ruler
Faster, but with one condition: the ring must be one you actually wear on the same finger, on the same hand. Fingers on your dominant hand are usually half a size larger, and the ring finger differs from the index finger on the same hand.
- Lay the ring flat on a table.
- Measure straight across the inside of the band, from one inner edge to the opposite inner edge, through the centre. Don’t include the metal itself.
- That number in millimetres is your inside diameter. Match it to the diameter column in the chart below.
One caution
Wide bands fit more tightly than thin ones at the same size, because more metal sits against the finger. If you’re measuring a thin ring but buying a wide one, go up half a size.

Conversions are approximate — the scales don’t align exactly, so a US 7 sits between two Indian sizes rather than on one. Where it falls between, take the larger.
Things that change your size
Worth knowing
Time of dayFingers are smallest in the morning and largest in the evening. Measure at the end of the day, when your hands are at their normal size.
TemperatureFingers swell in heat and shrink in cold. Don’t measure straight after a shower, exercise, or coming in from the sun.
Which handYour dominant hand is usually about half a size larger. Measure the exact finger on the exact hand you’ll wear it on.
Band widthA wide band fits tighter than a thin one at the same size. For bands over 6 mm wide, consider going up half a size.
StackingIf you plan to wear two or three rings together on one finger, they sit slightly tighter than one alone.
KnucklesIf your knuckle is noticeably wider than the base of your finger, size for the knuckle. A ring that won’t go on is no use at all.

What if the size is still wrong when it arrives?
We resize once, free, within 7 days of delivery. Message us on WhatsApp with your order number and we’ll arrange it.
Can every ring be resized?
Most plain and single-stone bands can be resized comfortably by a size or two either way. Rings with stones set all the way around, or with engraving along the band, are much harder — for those we’d usually remake rather than resize. Tell us which piece you have and we’ll say honestly which applies.
I’m buying it as a gift and can’t ask her size.
Borrow a ring she wears on the right finger and measure the inside diameter — method two above. If that isn’t possible, choose one of our adjustable designs, or send her a gift card and let her pick.
Do you have an adjustable option?
Yes. Some designs come in an adjustable band that fits a range of sizes. On those products you’ll see Adjustable listed alongside the numbered sizes. It’s a sensible choice if you’re unsure, or buying as a gift.
Why not use a printable paper sizer?
Printed sizers only work if your printer scales at exactly 100%, and most don’t by default. A mis-scaled sizer gives a confidently wrong answer, which is worse than no answer. The paper strip and ruler method avoids that problem entirely.
